How VPNs get this cheap
The lowest VPN prices are for long plans of one, two or more years, which you pay upfront. A VPN that costs $3 a month on a 2-year plan charges that times 24 at checkout.
That's still the best deal if you'll use the VPN for that long. Every VPN on this page also has a money-back guarantee, so you can try it and get your money back if it doesn't work for you.
Our top pick right now is Surfshark, at $2.71 a month when you pay for 2 years.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best VPN under $3 a month?
Of the 15 VPNs that qualify, Surfshark ticks the most boxes, from $2.71 a month when you pay for 2 years. If price matters most, FastestVPN is the cheapest at $0.83 a month.
Can I pay for a VPN under $3 month by month?
No. Month-to-month plans cost more. The cheapest monthly plan we track is FastestVPN at $5.00, so you need a longer plan to pay $3 a month or less.
Are free months included in the price?
Yes. When a 2-year plan comes with extra free months, we divide the total by all the months you get, so the price per month is what you really pay.
