When a monthly plan makes sense
Monthly plans cost a lot more per month than long ones, often three to five times as much. In return you can cancel at any time.
They make sense for a trip, a short project or to try a VPN for longer than its money-back period. If you'll use a VPN for more than about six months, a 1-year or 2-year plan almost always works out cheaper.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cheapest monthly VPN?
FastestVPN is the cheapest of the 25 VPNs on this page, at $5.00 a month when you pay for 1 month. IVPN follows at $6.00.
Why are monthly VPN plans so expensive?
VPNs give big discounts on long plans because they are paid upfront and keep customers longer. The monthly price is the price without that discount.
